One of the most talented singers and music composers, Damodar Raao, has the distinction of participating in the most successful 7-days musical programme of M.D.Groups. ‘Indian Idol’, as The Honourable Chief Justice and was presented and awarded with unique ‘Honour’, A symbol of appreciation, at Aligarh 14 Dec. 2008.
Born on 21st August 1977 in Bihar Dist. West Champaran In Narkatia Ganj Villege of Maldi { Laxmipur } Damodar Raao was brought up and educated at West Champaran, where he had been studying upto graduation. From the very tender age he had been fond of singing. He learnt cllassical music from Keshav Kumar Mishra of Bettiah Gharana and Pt. Shyamdas Mishra Of Patna City Gharana. He started to participate in local music shows, festival and other social functions as a singer. This gave him much required confidence and encouragement. Apart from his father Shri Ramdhani Rao and his Folk Guru, he had also been learning from Maharani Janki Kunwar Maha Vidyalay as well.
To scale more heights as a singer, he came in Delhi and started his struggle for survival. His hardwork, soft voice and sweet behaviour, made him most sought after singer in the Capital. After becoming popular for Sai Bhajan and Mata ji Jagran, he started to sing all types of songs and became Versatile Singer. During his 7-years in Delhi & 6-years in Patna with Bhojpuri Lyric Writer Vinay Bihari, he remained bounded by Captain Video Company, and wrote, song, composed and participated 20 Video Albums, which gave him name and fame he really deserved. Then he started to do music services as a Free launcer.

He Is specialist in Sai Bhajans & Bhagwati Jagran. Today most popular Bhojpuri singer and composer, Damodar Raao, was very happy when in 1996 he made his debut as a singer in Music Album ‘Bhojpuriya Holi’ in Surya Music Company, in which he had rendered two songs. He cannot forget the 3 years of his life, when he was engaged with Surya Company, along with lyricist Vinay Bihari, who had supported and encouraged him during those day and is still with him for various assignments. One was writing and the other was reciting and the result was Roaring Success of their Albums.

Musical vizard Damodar Raao, had been a part of Aakashwani for many years. He had been singing the Bhajans of Anup Jalota, for three longs years, every Thursday, at Sai Mandir (Tigaon Road Sai Dham Faridabad) Delhi. He had been contributing his music and vocal skill to Sur Sangam Musical Group, for full three years. He is grateful to Shri Vashu Datwani of J.L.V. Music Company, who has played an important role in his success and popularity. He has given many musical shows under his own banner of Sai Sargam, Sargam being the name of his daughter.
